Ray came to New Zealand in 1997 and completed a Bachelor of Science (double major) at the University of Otago in 2000. He then ran two photo shops and copy centre in Epsom and Remuera. His experience specializing in photos, flyers, signage and catalogues enables him to put effective marketing material together for his clients. Ray also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Shenyang University of Technology. He worked in China for a top industrial instrumentation factory (Technology and Sales Department) for over ten years and this background helped him develop strong skills in marketing, public relations, client service and negotiation.

Ray Qu started his real estate career in 2008 and has worked in Barfoot & Thompson's central, eastern and southern branches. He has a comprehensive understanding of the properties in all of the major areas of Auckland. Ray has been very successful in his career from the beginning and in his first year in the industry sold 22 properties to a value above $10 million. This was a major achievement especially in the tough market during that time.

Ray's success continues, not driven by luck but through a structured, focused work ethic, a 'never give up' attitude and powerful negotiation skills. In 2013 Auckland's Unitary Plan commenced so Ray constantly updated his professional knowledge and in his branch can be described as the land and unitary plan expert. Ray knows the potential value of the land and property and can be relied upon for the right advice. Ray is registered as a rural salesperson and is equally comfortable with rural and residential sales.

Ray joined the North Shore Browns Bay branch in 2012 because he firmly believed in North Shore residential real estate and north of the shore for rural real estate, in the present and into the future, because the living environment, security and excellent education facilities was the place to be.
